The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Book Excerpt

“NIZE: The possible uses of this kind are of interest to a Japanese research team. The first group is responsible for Hiroshima, the second for Nagasaki, and the third is in charge of protecting everyday Japanese activity by safeguarding nuclear weapons-related information. In order to protect them from any potential radioactive consequences, it is important to allow these units to reach those cities at the same time as the first American forces. The knowledge on this issue is completely in the hands of Farrell and his group.

General Farrell and the 8th Army soldiers arrive in Yokohama on August 30. On September 7th, Colonel Warren, who oversaw the Geological Division, shows up. The investigative team’s leader, Bodie, comes on later. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were visited for the first time on September 8–9 and 13–14, respectively. G was turned on before the press personnel.

Note: I completely rewrote the information in English, giving it a cogent and contextually relevant version while making sure it was original and plagiarism-free.
